I am afraid MD801 update will not be released soon. We are trying hard to develop new models for two reasons. One, to keep up with car development. Two, to leave the counterfeits behind. ... We also hope our customers will stand with us side by side.

Reply to 4 floor: I am afraid that we customers will step away from you to other manufacturers if you don't support us. If the update will not be released soon, when do plan to release it? Is someone working on that update or is this just an empty promise?

At first we were thinking that Maxidiag series was a updatable product but you have to pay for the update fee. Then we found out there are some hardware restrictions to this series, so we develop a new model, Maxidiag Elite. We have changed the whole software structure for this new model, so it is impossible to move the software to the old Maxidiag series. Considering the high cost for a update annual fee, I think it is a more popolar idea to purchase a new model, which just costs 100 more.

Reply to 6 floor: I can't follow you. In April (2013-04-11) you said that soon there will be an area for updates for old scanners. And now you say that there will be no updates? When did you find out that there are hardware limitations for the old scanners? In April the Maxidiag Elite was available for a while, so you knew that your engineers will not make updates for the old scanners, but here in this forum you said something different? Is that Autels kind of support? Promise things, keeping the hope alive, and then say: "sorry, you bought a scanner (with updates promised in manual), but we decided not to support it, please buy a new scanner?

We do provide the free update for some old models, but not all of them. Things keep on changing, sorry.

Reply to 8 floor: But this topic/thread is about the Maxidiag 801. Why do you promise an update area if you know that you will not develope/offer them? Every scanner has a login password, why is it not possible to use it for a secured area where we can buy/download these updates?
